Typically, those who fail to make a team during the Blind Auditions are eliminated from that season’s competition.
Season fifteen of NBC’s “The Voice” will offer six such contestants a second chance.
These six hopefuls will “compete for a chance to re-enter “The Voice” competition and earn a spot in the Top 13 live shows in November.”
Their journey will be chronicled in a companion series on a variety of NBC digital channels.
Billed as the season’s “Fifth Coach,” country star Kelsea Ballerini will mentor the six comeback artists.
NBC detailed the format in an official press release:
— Ballerini will assign the six contestants into three battle round pairings. She will coach each contestant on an individual song choice.
— The three battle winners will advance to the finals, in which Ballerini will select her favorite two contestants.
— Those two contestants will perform during the televised November 13 results show. America will select its favorite via a Twitter save, and the winner will be part of the final thirteen.
Season fifteen of “The Voice” premieres on September 24.
