Dan + Shay’s “Tequila,” which recently spent two weeks atop the country radio chart, is beginning to receive airplay at hot adult contemporary radio.
Credited with 100 spins at the format during the July 15-21 tracking week, “Tequila” ranks as the Mediabase Hot AC panel’s #54 song. It was #88 last week.
A total of nine Mediabase-monitored Hot AC stations contributed airplay this week. Pittsburgh’s Star 100.7 led the way with 34 spins.
“Tequila” continues to receive a significant amount of airplay at the duo’s core format; it is #3 on this week’s Mediabase country chart.
It has also attracted some attention from select pop radio stations, including SiriusXM Hits 1.
