While it was no match for the “Hamilton”-boosted 2016 edition, the 2018 Tony Awards ceremony outperformed the 2017 installment.

According to fast national data posted by Showbuzz, the three-hour telecast averaged a 1.0 adults 18-49 rating and 6.32 million overall viewers.

Last year’s show drew a 0.9 in the demo and 6.05 million in overall viewership.

The aforementioned 2016 show meanwhile scored a 1.6 rating and 8.72 million viewership mark.
