The follow-up to Camila Cabello’s “Havana (featuring Young Thug)” is set to become a pop radio chart-topper in its own right.
“Never Be The Same,” that song, should improve to #1 on this week’s edition of the Mediabase pop radio airplay chart.
The song received 7,592 spins during the first three days of the April 29-May 5 tracking period. The count tops the same-time-last-week mark by 4.4%.
It, moreover, brings “Never Be The Same” within 12 spins of Zedd, Maren Morris & Grey’s “The Middle,” which is #1 on the building chart. That song, however, is down 2.0% from last week’s tally.
If both songs remain on their current trajectories, “Never Be The Same” will pull ahead before this week’s chart goes final.
Assuming it reaches #1, “Never Be The Same” will become Cabello’s third chart-topper as a solo act. In addition to “Havana,” Cabello reached #1 at pop radio with her Machine Gun Kelly collaboration “Bad Things.”
She also scored one #1 hit as part of Fifth Harmony – “Work From Home (featuring Ty Dolla $ign).”
