Update: Official ratings have emerged for the “Jersey Shore: Family Vacation” premiere, and they confirm a strong performance.
According to live+same-day data posted by Showbuzz, Thursday’s two-hour premiere drew a 1.42 adults 18-49 rating and averaged 2.42 million viewers in the 8PM hour. The numbers increased to 1.49 and 2.56 million at 9PM.
While markedly below the numbers “Jersey Shore” drew during its peak years, the performance is roughly on par with that delivered during the original show’s sixth and final season.
“Jersey Shore” was Thursday’s #1 cable original in the adults 18-49 demographic. It was the night’s #4 overall program in that demo, trailing only CBS’ “The Big Bang Theory” and “Young Sheldon” and ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy.”
The show also ranked as the night’s top cable program in adults 18-34.

Ratings for the premiere of “Jersey Shore: Family Vacation” did not rival those routinely drawn during the peak “Jersey Shore” seasons.
They are, however, quite impressive for the 2018 television landscape.
According to Showbuzz, the 8PM episode drew an impressive 1.82 rating in the target 18-34 demographic. The number grew to 1.92 at 9PM.
In terms of overall viewership, Deadline notes that the show averaged 2.4 million at 8PM and 2.6 million at 9PM. While a far cry from the show’s peak viewership level (the show drew over 8 million viewers on multiple occasions), the numbers are fantastic for a cable reality series.
As a comparison, it has been nearly two years since an episode of “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” drew that many viewers.
