Lorde’s “Melodrama” is nominated for Album of the Year at the 60th Annual Grammy Awards.
A song from her previous album, however, received attention at Republic Records’ pre-Grammy Party Friday night.
Lorde received a diamond plaque for her breakthrough hit “Royals.”
Issued by the RIAA, the award signifies at least 10 million in US units. Each unit is equal to 1 paid download or 150 streams.
Upon receiving her diamond plaque, Lorde celebrated the occasion — and posed for pictures — with family members and Republic co-founders Monty and Avery Lipman.
Republic shared some of those photos following Friday’s party, which took place at Cadillac House in New York.
