The December 11 fall finale of “Lucifer” ended with a major revelation: the lieutenant known to the characters as Marcus Pierce is actually the immortal Cain.
The reveal will surely factor into upcoming installments of the FOX drama.
The news will not, however, be the focus of the very next episode.
Entitled “City Of Angels?,” the January 1 midseason premiere flashes back to when Lucifer first arrived in Los Angeles.
“Amenadiel comes to retrieve his fallen brother, but is shocked when he is mugged,” says the official FOX synopsis. “Amenadiel enlists Lucifer’s help to track down the mugger and Lucifer, in turn, offers his assistance – but only in exchange for a favor. Meanwhile, Chloe and Dan – who are still married – investigate the murder of an MMA fighter, Aidan Scott, at the hands of the same killer who mugged Amenadiel.”
“City Of Angels?” was originally eyed as a second season broadcast. It is unclear whether anything has been updated to precisely fit the current narrative.
