Ratings: “America’s Got Talent” Finale Viewership Grows From Last Year

The final season 12 results show drew a larger audience than the corresponding season 11 episode.

Based on preliminary data, the twelfth “America’s Got Talent” season posted a year-over-year viewership gain.

According to fast national data posted by Showbuzz, Tuesday’s episode drew a 2.7 adults 18-49 rating and averaged 14.63 million overall viewers in the 8PM hour. It improved to a 3.0 adults 18-49 rating and 16.09 million in the 9-10PM window.

It thus averaged 15.36 million total viewers from start-to-finish.

Last year’s finale averaged a 2.8 in the adults 18-49 demo and 14.41 million in overall viewership.

Darci Lynne, a twelve-year-old singing ventriloquist, was crowned the season twelve winner in Wednesday’s finale.

— Wednesday’s “AGT” led into “The Good Place,” which averaged a 1.4 rating and 5.79 million viewers from 10-11PM.
