Update: Liam Payne, who previously appeared as part of One Direction, paid his first solo visit to “The Late Late Show With James Corden” Wednesday night.
The artist had an extensive role on the broadcast. In addition to closing the show with a performance of “Strip That Down,” he joined Jim Gaffigan and James Van Der Beek for the nightly discussion.
He also joined host James Corden for a Riff-Off segment.

In 2015, One Direction made two appearances on CBS’ “The Late Late Show With James Corden.”
Beginning in late-night 2016, the members began to appear on the show as solo artists.
Niall Horan visited the show in October of that year, while Louis Tomlinson took the “Corden” stage in February 2017.
Harry Styles appeared for a week-long residency in May 2017; he also appeared on a London-based episode in June.
