Fitz And The Tantrums’ multi-format hit “HandClap” has officially attained platinum status in the United States.

The RIAA formalized the honor on March 3, 2017.

A platinum certification confirms 1 million in US units. A unit is equal to 1 paid download or 150 streams.

“HandClap” follows “The Walker” in becoming the second Fitz And The Tantrums single to reach platinum status in the US. The band also possesses gold singles in “Out Of My League” and “Moneygrabber.”
