Despite not debuting until the fifth day of the February 26-March 4 tracking week, Lorde’s new “Green Light” blasts onto the weekly Mediabase pop, alternative and hot adult contemporary airplay chart.
Credited with 2,377 tracking week spins, “Green Light” lands at #25 on the pop chart.
It meanwhile takes #29 on the alternative listing with 394 spins and #31 on the Hot AC chart with ~642 plays.
Bottlenecked by its late-week arrival, “Green Light” benefited from immense support from the iHeartMedia network on Thursday and Friday. Many iHeart stations played the song every hour or every other hour.
That support, combined with the enthusiasm one would expect for a new Lorde single, explains the impressive debut positions on the three key charts.
