Last week, Machine Gun Kelly x Camila Cabello’s “Bad Things” reached the Top 5 at rhythmic radio.
This week, it is on track to do the same at pop.
“Bad Things” received 5,603 spins during the first three days of the January 8-14 tracking week. Up 19.8% from the count at this point last week, the tally slots “Bad Things” at #5 on Mediabase’s building chart.
Since it does not face an imminent threat from below, “Bad Things” should have no trouble retaining its position through the close of tracking. If both songs were to roughly maintain their current paces, “Bad Things” would actually be able to leapfrog The Chainsmokers’ building #4 “Closer (featuring Halsey)” before week’s end.
“Bad Things” is Machine Gun Kelly’s most successful radio hit. Camila Cabello twice reached pop radio’s Top 5 (and once #1) as part of Fifth Harmony, but “Bad Things” has already outpeaked “I Know What You Did Last Summer,” her non-Fifth Harmony duet with Shawn Mendes.
