In late September, Metallica introduced “Moth Into Flame” with a heavy, hard-rocking performance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.”
Wednesday night, the iconic metal band returns for a decidedly different sort of performance.
Joined by Jimmy Fallon and The Roots, the band enters the “Tonight Show Music Room” to perform with classroom instruments. The recurring sketch is a fan favorite; previous “classroom instruments” performances have involved artists like Adele, Meghan Trainor, and One Direction.
The performance airs as part of Wednesday’s episode. It provides the band with additional hype and exposure ahead of this Friday’s “Hardwired… to Self-Destruct” album release.
The episode, which also features appearances by Jude Law and Sterling K. Brown and a performance by Macklemore with Ariana DeBoo, airs beginning at 11:35PM ET/PT.
