FOX Orders Nine More “Lucifer” Episodes, Bringing Season Two Total To 22

FOX’s “Lucifer” will stick around for the entirety of the 2016-17 season.

The network has picked up nine additional second season episodes of the Monday night drama. Prior to the order, only thirteen second season episodes had been confirmed.

“Lucifer” has not been a strong live+same-day ratings performer, but it has been reasonably consistent this season. It is also proving compatible with its “Gotham” lead-in; the series have been drawing similar live+same-day marks this year.

“Lucifer” also fares well on a multi-platform/time-delayed basis, drawing 8.0 million total viewers per episode.

“LUCIFER continues to deliver, with great blasts of dark humor and ambitious storytelling. The show has turned out to be a true wicked pleasure, the perfect companion to GOTHAM, and we couldn’t be more pleased to order these nine additional episodes,” said FOX’s Madden. “We’d like to thank Tom, Lauren and the entire cast, who have imbued these characters with charm, humor and a great deal of humanity. Our thanks also go out to the production crew – Jerry, Len, Jonathan, Joe and Ildy – who, week-in and week-out, deliver a stellar show. We can’t wait to see what’s in store for the rest of the season.”
