Mark Ronson & Bruno Mars’ “Uptown Funk” Certified Diamond (And Then Some); “Uptown Special” Goes Platinum

The prestigious diamond club has welcomed a new member.

The RIAA confirms that Mark Ronson’s “Uptown Funk (featuring Bruno Mars)” was certified 11x platinum on October 18, 2016. The certification confirms 11 million in digital US units, bringing “Uptown Funk” comfortably past the diamond threshold (10 million).

Each unit is equal to 1 paid download or 150 streams.

Mathematically, the “Uptown Funk” certification means that the album on which it appears has generated at least 1.1 million in US units.

Indeed, Ronson’s “Uptown Special” earned a platinum album certification award on October 18, 2016.

The certification confirms 1 million in album units; each unit is equal to 1 album sale, 10 track sales or 1500 track streams.
