“SNL” Ratings Dip, Remain Strong For Lin-Manuel Miranda, Twenty One Pilots Episode

This weekend’s “Saturday Night Live” featured host Lin-Manuel Miranda and musical guest twenty one pilots.

While it was not as potent as last week’s premiere (5.7 overnight household rating, 2.7 LPM adults 18-49 rating), it still fared well in the overnight ratings.

Citing metered market data, NBC notes that Saturday’s “SNL” drew a 5.2 overnight household rating. The figure marks the best week two performance since the October 1, 2011 episode (host Melissa McCarthy, musical guest Lady Antebellum) drew the same 5.2.

One would have to back to September 20, 2008 (host James Franco, musical guest Kings Of Leon) to find a week two episode that posted a stronger overnight household rating (5.7).

Based on data from the 25 local people meter markets, this week’s episode drew a 2.4 adults 18-49 rating. The demo rating is the best for a week two episode since the 2.7 drawn by the October 5, 2013 (host and musical guest Miley Cyrus) episode.

Season 42 continues next Saturday with host Emily Blunt and musical guest Bruno Mars.
