The lead single from The Pretty Reckless’ “Who You Selling For” is officially the top song at active rock radio.

Played ~1,694 times during the August 21-27 tracking period (+158), TPR’s “Take Me Down” rises to #1 on this week’s Mediabase active rock airplay chart.

The song, which was #3 last week, seizes the throne from Chevelle’s “Joyride (Omen),” which falls to #6 after four weeks on top.

“Take Me Down” follows “Heaven Knows” and “Messed Up World” in becoming The Pretty Reckless’ third #1 on the Mediabase active rock chart (the band’s “Follow Me Down” reached #1 on Billboard’s similar Mainstream Rock chart but settled for #2 on Mediabase).

Up four places, Green Day’s “Bang Bang” moves into the runner-up slot this week. It received ~1,633 weekly spins (+317).

Red Hot Chili Peppers’ “Dark Necessities” slips one spot to #3 with ~1,517 weekly spins (-96), while Pop Evil’s “Take It All” holds at #4 on the strength of its ~1,505 plays (+3).

A fourteen-place surge brings Metallica’s “Hardwired” to #5. The song received ~1,468 spins during the August 21-27 tracking period (+814), which marked its first full week in the market.
