The rumors (and the artist’s own Twitter exchange) were true. Lauren Alaina’s “Road Less Traveled” will receive the coveted iHeartRadio “On The Verge” boost at country radio.
iHeartRadio officially announced the selection early Monday morning.
In addition to branding support for the artist, “On The Verge” provides the designated single with guaranteed airplay on iHeartMedia’s network of stations.
The airplay support ensures “Road Less Traveled” will have a legitimate opportunity to connect with audiences.
Several past “On The Verge” songs — Granger Smith’s “Backroad Song,” Cam’s “Burning House,” Chris Janson’s “Buy Me A Boat,” Michael Ray’s “Kiss You In The Morning,” A Thousand Horses’ “Smoke,” Sam Hunt’s “Leave The Night On,” and Dustin Lynch’s “Where It’s At” — reached #1 at country radio.
The country format’s previous “On The Verge” selection was Tucker Beathard’s “Rock On,” which entered the Top 10 on this week’s Mediabase country radio chart.
Co-written by Alaina, Meghan Trainor, and Jesse Frasure, “Road Less Traveled” appears on the former “American Idol” contestant’s self-titled 2015 EP.
