Adele’s hot adult contemporary chart-topper “Send My Love (To Your New Lover)” is set to enter the Top 5 on this week’s Mediabase pop radio airplay chart.
The third “25” single received 5,233 spins during the first three days of the August 14-20 tracking period. Up 13.5% from the count at this point last week, the tally slots “Send My Love” at #4 on Mediabase’s building chart.
“Send My Love” does not face an obvious, imminent threat from below, so it should have no trouble retaining its position through the close of tracking.
As “Send My Love” works toward a Top 5 position on the official Mediabase chart, Ariana Grande’s “Into You” appears set to crack the Top 10.
“Into You,” which received 4,049 spins during the tracking week’s first three days, is currently #10 on the building chart. Its lead over Flume’s building #11 “Never Be Like You (featuring Kai)” (3,803) is not especially substantial, but “Into You” appears to have more momentum. It is up 9.5% week-to-week, while “Never Be Like You” is up 3.5%.
The advantage should keep “Into You” ahead as the week moves to its conclusion.
“Send My Love” was #7 on last week’s chart. “Into You” was #11.
