Twenty One Pilots’ “Stressed Out” Reaches 4X Platinum In US; “Tear In My Heart” Platinum

“Stressed Out,” the single that facilitated twenty one pilots’ mainstream breakthrough has reached a new multi-platinum tier in the United States.

“Tear In My Heart,” its predecessor, has officially gone platinum.

“Stressed Out” officially received a 4x platinum certification on July 28, 2016. The honor confirms a US unit total of at least 4 million, with each unit being equal to 1 paid download or 150 streams.

In going platinum, “Tear In My Heart” is credited with at least 1 million units.

“Tear” was a big hit at the duo’s core alternative format, but it was “Stressed Out” that made major noise — and topped the charts — at pop and Hot AC radio. Since its ascent, twenty one pilots has scored a big follow-up hit in “Ride.” New single “Heathens” is also shaping up to be a big hit.
