Across six episodes, ABC’s new series “Greatest Hits” will celebrate the biggest music hits of the 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s.
Each episode tackles a half-decade.
The June 30 premiere will focus on 1980-1985. Unless ABC’s erred in its press release, the following week’s episode apparently skip ahead to the 1995-2000 period.
In accordance with that time window, the July 7 “Greatest Hits” will showcase singles — and feature performances — by Backstreet Boys, Coolio, Jewel, LL Cool J, and Hanson.
The episode will also feature appearances by several current superstars: Meghan Trainor will perform with The Backstreet Boys, CeeLo will perform with Coolio, Tori Kelly will perform with Jewel, and Wiz Khalifa will perform with LL Cool J. John Legend will also sing two Lauryn Hill hits.
In advance of the broadcast, ABC issued a performance list and photos from the taping. Both follow:
[Editor’s Note: In conjunction with the below press package, ABC included photos of a Boyz II Men performance. Boyz II Men is not featured in the press release, so it is unclear whether the act is scheduled for the 1995-2000 episode — or the 1990-1995 broadcast ]
