There is no mistaking Monday’s “Scream” ratings for those of a hit series, but they are better than those drawn by last week’s season premiere.
According to national data posted by Showbuzz, Monday’s “Scream” posted a 0.27 adults 18-49 rating and drew 0.50 million total viewers.
Last week’s second season premiere posted a 0.22 and 0.40 million. Both were series lows.
This week’s episode had clear advantages. Last week’s episode aired on Memorial Day, and its first half faced opposition from the NBA playoffs. This week’s episode aired on a non-holiday with lighter competition.
Monday’s episode also received stronger lead-in support; the “Teen Mom 2” season finale drew a 0.92 adults 18-49 rating and 1.64 million total viewers. Last week’s episode managed a 0.73 and 1.31 million.
Numbers for Monday’s “Scream,” particularly in the younger demos (0.32 in A18-34, 0.42 in F12-34, 0.19 in M12-34), still trail those typically drawn during the show’s first season.
The show’s first season episodes did not receive the “Teen Mom 2” lead-in support afforded to the first two second season episodes, but they did air in a more desirable timeslot. Instead of airing at 11PM on Mondays, the first season of “Scream” was slotted at 10PM on Tuesdays.
