Fifth Harmony Won’t Battle Ariana Grande, Blake Shelton; “7/27” Release Delayed Till 5/27

In a Friday afternoon video announcement, Fifth Harmony confirmed it has slightly delayed the release of its sophomore album “7/27.”

Instead of launching on the previously confirmed May 20, the group will now drop its album on May 27.

In the aforementioned video, 5H member Lauren Jauregui attributes the move to the importance of “27.”

“So to keep cohesive with it being 27, we have decided to push it one week to the 27th,” she explains.

Luckily for fans hoping to experience the album as quickly as possible, the “7” part of “7/27” — a reference to the fact that the group was formed on July 27 — is apparently not coming into play.

The delay withdraws Fifth Harmony’s album from what was to be a very challenging battle at the top of the charts. Ariana Grande’s “Dangerous Woman” and Blake Shelton’s “If I’m Honest” are also scheduled for release on May 20.

Aside from “7/27,” the most notable release presently scheduled for May 27 is Dierks Bentley’s “Black.” The album represents a far less formidable foe than “Dangerous Woman” or “If I’m Honest.”
