Mediabase has released its latest pop radio callout report, and it confirms a very favorable reaction to Ariana Grande’s “Dangerous Woman.”
The lead single (and title track) from Grande’s forthcoming third album is one of the best-scoring active pop songs for all key quality metrics.
Among surveyed pop listeners, “Dangerous Woman” is receiving a positive reaction from 63.6%, a negative reaction from 17.8% and thus a net positive score of 45.8%.
Its positive score is 5th-greatest among the 22 current pop songs featured in this week’s report. Its negative score ties that of Mike Posner’s “I Took A Pill In Ibiza” for lowest, while its net positive score is second-highest. Only Lukas Graham’s “7 Years” (49.8%) has a higher net positive score.
Even though its familiarity level is comparatively low at 80.9% (t14 out of 22), it boasts one of the highest “favorite” ratings. It is identified as a favorite by 20.9% of listeners; that is the pop format’s fifth-best score.
