Rihanna’s “Kiss It Better,” AlunaGeorge’s “I’m In Control” Reach Top 65 at Rhythmic Radio

Of the two official follow-ups to “Work (featuring Drake),” Rihanna’s “Needed Me” has garnered the greatest degree of interest at rhythmic radio. Spun 346 times during the April 3-9 tracking week, it ranks as the Mediabase rhythmic panel’s #50 song.

“Kiss It Better” is not, however, completely out of the mix.

The pop-leaning “ANTI” track also received a respectable dose of rhythmic airplay during the official tracking week. It was spun 130 times during the April 3-9 frame, which results in a #62 ranking. It was outside the Top 120 last week.

While the format’s preference — at least thus far — seems to clearly lie in favor of “Needed Me,” the situation is not as lopsided as it is at the pop and urban formats. “Kiss It Better” is the clear preference at pop, while “Needed Me” is the overwhelming favorite at urban.

— AlunaGeorge’s “I’m In Control (featuring Popcaan)” also enters rhythmic radio’s Top 70 this week. Up twenty three places, the single takes #63 on the strength of its 130 weekly spins (“Kiss It Better” wins the tiebreaker thanks to its greater weekly airplay gain).
