Taylor Swift’s “New Romantics” Reaches #71 at Pop Radio

Taylor Swift [Trae Patton/CBS]

Pop radio programmers have predictably begun to spin Taylor Swift’s “New Romantics.”

The song, which was not formally confirmed as her new single until February 19, received 119 spins during the February 14-20 tracking week. The count positions “New Romantics” as the Mediabase pop panel’s #71 song.

Forty six monitored stations contributed to the weekly spin total; none played the song during the prior tracking week.

“New Romantics” is the seventh single from Swift’s “1989.” It is the immediate follow-up to “Out Of The Woods,” which in peaking at #13, became the first “1989” radio release not to reach #1 at pop.
