While not as strong as the previous two episodes — one inflated by a football lead-in, the other representing the annual Christmas show — this weekend’s “Saturday Night Live” fared well in the ratings department.
The episode’s overnight household rating and major market adults 18-49 rating both top season averages.
Per metered market data (excluding Raleigh-Durham, for which numbers were not available at press time, and potentially impacted by weather pre-emptions), Saturday’s “SNL” posted a 5.0 overnight household rating.
Featuring host Ronda Rousey and musical guest Selena Gomez, the episode meanwhile drew a 2.5 adults 18-49 rating in the Top 25 markets.
This season’s average overnight household rating has been a 4.6; its average major market adults 18-49 rating has been a 2.2.
— Aided by football and featuring host Adam Driver and musical guest Chris Stapleton, last week’s episode posted a 3.0 adults 18-49 rating in the Top 25 markets. Its metered market rating was not available due to the late start, but estimates say it drew in the mid-5s.
— Featuring hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler and musical guest Bruce Springsteen, the December 19 episode posted a 5.1 overnight household rating and a 2.6 in major market adults 18-49.
