As it does on the pop chart, Adele’s “Hello” earns a fourth straight week at #1 on Mediabase’s hot adult contemporary airplay chart.
This week’s victory comes courtesy the song’s ~7,051 tracking week spins. The count trails last week’s mark by 94, but it still keeps “Hello” ahead of the competition.
Meghan Trainor’s “Like I’m Gonna Lose You (featuring John Legend)” serves as the week’s most notable competitor. Up one place, it earns #2 on the strength of the ~6,423 spins it received during the December 6-12 tracking week (+191).
Elle King’s former #1 “Ex’s And Oh’s” slips to #3 on the strength of its ~6,244 plays (-329), while Shawn Mendes’ “Stitches” (#4, +1 | ~6,151, +143) and Taylor Swift’s “Wildest Dreams” (#5, -1 | ~5,787, -226) complete the Top 5.
While it features some positional changes, this week’s Top 5 does not feature any new arrivals.
The Top 10 does.
Up two places, Coldplay’s “Adventure Of A Lifetime” makes its first Top 10 appearance at #10. It received ~3,117 tracking week spins (+397).
— A four-week leader at pop and Hot AC radio, “Hello” this week becomes a five-week leader at adult contemporary radio. It loses its crown at Triple A but reaches the Top 10 at urban adult contemporary and Top 15 at rhythmic.
