Ellie Goulding’s “On My Mind,” Alessia Cara’s “Here” Pacing Pop Radio’s Top 5

Two songs — both from female solo artists — will reach the Top 5 on this week’s Mediabase pop airplay chart.

Ellie Goulding’s “On My Mind” received 9,713 times during the first five days of the December 6-12 tracking week. While that only bests last week’s count by a slim 1.6%, it positions “On My Mind” at #4 on the building airplay chart.

Closely behind, Alessia Cara’s “Here” received 9,705 spins across the same five-day period. The count, which bests the same-time-last-week mark by 6.6%, slots “Here” at #5 on building chart.

Since Cara’s “Here” is currently rising faster, there is a chance it overtakes Goulding’s tune before the chart goes final.

But regardless of which takes #4 and #5, the key is that both songs have a clear path to a Top 5 position.

“On My Mind” held at its #6 peak on last week’s chart. “Here” was up to a peak of #7.
