Last week, Eric Church released the surprise album “Mr. Misunderstood.”
This week, the title track takes the top spot on Mediabase’s country radio add board.
Picked up by 79 Mediabase-monitored country stations, Church’s “Mr. Misunderstood” is this week’s most-added song at country radio.
Church performed the song at the November 4 CMA Awards. The album, which had been issued to Church’s fan club shortly prior, was made available for general purchase that same night.
A big night for Eric Church, the 49th Annual CMA Awards represented a considerably bigger one for Chris Stapleton. In addition to stealing the show while performing “Tennessee Whiskey” and “Drink You Away” alongside Justin Timberlake, Stapleton won the awards for New Artist, Album, and Male Vocalist of the Year.
On the heels of that career-making night, Stapleton’s radio single “Nobody To Blame” garnered support from country programmers. The track, which scored adds from 64 Mediabase-monitored country programmers, takes second-most-added this week.
An add count of 37 earns Brett Eldredge’s “Drunk On Your Love” third place, while Florida Georgia Line’s “Confession” (24 adds) and Luke Bryan’s “Home Alone Tonight (featuring Karen Fairchild)” (22 adds) take fourth- and fifth-most-added, respectively.
Other notable country options this week: Keith Urban’s “Break On Me” (19 adds, 6th-most-added), Zac Brown Band’s “Beautiful Drug” (15 adds, 7th-most-added), Ashley Campbell’s “Remembering” (13 adds, 8th-most-added, tie), Dylan Scott’s “Crazy Over Me” (13 adds, 8th-most-added, tie), and Granger Smith’s “Backroad Song” (13 adds, 8th-most-added, tie).
