FOX’s “The Grinder,” CBS’ “Life in Pieces” Earn Full Season Orders

Two freshman comedies are officially sticking around for the full 2015-16 television season.

News emerged Tuesday that FOX’s “The Grinder” and CBS’ “Life in Pieces” both received “back nine” episodic orders; each is thus confirmed for a full, 22-episode first season.

“The Grinder” is interestingly the lower-rated of FOX’s two Tuesday night half hours. FOX has not yet made a decision regarding lead-in and fellow newcomer “Grandfathered.”

Judged at face value, the “Life in Pieces” numbers have been solid over the first five weeks of the season. The show has, however, been losing a substantial chunk of its “The Big Bang Theory” lead-in.
