Granger Smith’s “Backroad Song” Scores iHeartRadio “On The Verge” Boost

The program that helped Dustin Lynch, Sam Hunt, A Thousand Horses, Michael Ray and Chris Janson score their first country radio number ones is now supporting Granger Smith’s “Backroad Song.”

iHeartRadio confirms Smith’s single as its latest “On The Verge” selection at country radio.

In addition to branding support across iHeartRadio’s digital network, “On The Verge” also provides songs with guaranteed airplay on iHeartMedia’s network of stations.

“Backroad Song” appeared at #37 and #41 on this past week’s Billboard Country Airplay and Mediabase country radio singles charts, respectively. Thanks to the guaranteed airplay and increased buzz, it will quickly rise from those positions.

“On The Verge” has thus far produced #1 radio hits (on Billboard, Mediabase or both) in Dustin Lynch’s “Where It’s At,” Sam Hunt’s “Leave The Night On,” A Thousand Horses’ “Smoke,” Michael Ray’s “Kiss You In The Morning,” and Chris Janson’s “Buy Me a Boat.” Other previous selections include Craig Campbell’s “Keep Them Kisses Comin,” Chase Bryant’s “Take It On Back,” RaeLynn’s “God Made Girls,” and Cam’s “Burning House.”

The lattermost song is still rising.
