Ratings: “SNL” Rises in Households, Slips in Demo For Miley Cyrus Premiere

This weekend’s Miley Cyrus-hosted “Saturday Night Live” premiere enjoyed a substantial year-over-year gain in households.

It, unfortunately, endured a slight year-over-year loss in adults 18-49.

Per metered market data, Saturday’s “SNL” season premiere drew a 4.5 overnight household rating. The number was up from the 4.0 drawn by last year’s Chris Pratt-Ariana Grande season premiere but down from that of the 2013 Tina Fey-Arcade Fire opener.

Saturday’s episode, which featured Miley as the host and musical guest, meanwhile drew a 2.0 adults 18-49 rating in the Top 25 markets with local people meters. That trails the 2.1 drawn by last year’s opener and the 2.7 posted by the 2013 season premiere.
