CBS’ “Zoo” Officially Renewed; Season 2 Premieres Next Summer

Weeks ago, news broke that CBS was parting ways with its third-year summer drama “Under the Dome.”

For first-year summer series “Zoo,” the news is of a decidedly more positive variety. CBS has renewed the show for a second season.

“ZOO’s thrilling stories clicked with audiences each week during a very competitive summer,” says CBS’ Glenn Geller. “We’re excited for viewers to see where our talented writers and cast take them as the adventure continues to unfold during season two in the ultimate fight of man vs. beast.”

While “Zoo” was not a strong performer in adults 18-49, it, per CBS, ranked as “the most watched scripted summer series of 2015.”

The second season will air in the summer of 2016.
