Rachel Platten’s “Stand By You” Headed for Hot AC Radio’s Top 40

Rachel Platten [Disney]

Rachel Platten’s new single “Stand By You” will claim a Top 40 position on this week’s Mediabase hot adult contemporary airplay chart.

The follow-up to Platten’s chart-topping “Fight Song” received 183 Hot AC spins during the first three days of the September 13-19 tracking week. That positions the song, which had not received any airplay (or even been released) at this point last week, at #40 on Mediabase’s building hot adult contemporary chart.

Since it will continue adding spins — and potentially at a faster rate — as the week continues, it should have no trouble retaining its Top 40 position as the week progresses. It will thus debut within that portion of the next official airplay chart.

The aforementioned “Fight Song” spent multiple weeks at #1 on Mediabase’s Hot AC chart. It reached the Top 10 at pop radio — and on the all-encompassing Hot 100.
