The Weeknd’s “Earned It” Certified 4X Platinum; “Can’t Feel My Face,” “The Hills” Reach 2X

Set to arrive this Friday, The Weeknd’s eagerly anticipated “Beauty Behind the Madness” contains three multi-platinum singles.

The RIAA recently issued a 4x platinum certification to his “Earned It.” Singles “Can’t Feel My Face” and “The Hills,” meanwhile, each earned 2x platinum certifications.

Under the terms of the RIAA’s digital singles program, the 4x platinum certification confirms a US unit total in excess of 4 million. The double-platinum distinction signifies a unit total of at least 2 million.

One unit is equal to 1 paid download or 100 streams.

“Earned It” has generated over 2 million in actual sales, while “Can’t Feel My Face” and “The Hills” both recently crossed the 1 million sales mark.

— August also brought a 2x platinum distinction for The Weeknd’s 2012 release “Wicked Games.”
