MTV’s 2015 Video Music Awards ceremony will air on August 30.
Taylor Swift’s “Wildest Dreams” video will premiere during that ceremony’s pre-show. In addition to confirming the launch plan, Swift also posted a teaser (below).
As Swift confirmed the premiere date, director Joseph Kahn, who worked on the artist’s “Blank Space” and “Bad Blood” videos, announced that he also helmed the “Wildest Dreams” visual offering. Per a Kahn Tweet, it was shot in Africa.
The video launch will precede the song’s formal pop radio impact.
“Wildest Dreams” is the fifth single from Swift’s “1989.” Three of the previous four singles reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100; all hit #1 on the pop and hot adult contemporary airplay charts.
A blockbuster in its own right, “1989” has reportedly driven 8 million worldwide sales. Its US total comfortably exceeds 5 million.
