Little Big Town’s “Girl Crush” Crosses the 1.5 Million Sales Mark

In some ways, this past week was a disappointing one for Little Big Town’s “Girl Crush.”

The song, which failed to reach #1 at country radio, suffered a massive airplay loss. It consequently slipped to #10 on the Mediabase country radio singles chart and went recurrent on the Billboard Country Airplay listing.

“Girl Crush” also lost its spot atop the all-encompassing Hot Country Songs chart, which it had ruled for thirteen straight weeks.

Little Big Town’s blockbuster single was not, however, only subject to bad news. It also received confirmation of a very impressive achievement.

It officially crossed the 1.5 million US sales mark.

According to Nielsen Music, “Girl Crush” moved approximately 50.6K US copies during the July 17-23 tracking week. That brought its cumulative US sales total to 1,532,272.

It follows Sam Hunt’s “Take Your Time” as only the second active or recently active country single to cross the 1.5 million sales mark this year.
