AWOLNATION’s “I Am” Ranks as Alternative Radio’s Most Added; Death Cab Follows

While not new to the format, AWOLNATION’s “I Am” won new support from the greatest quantity of alternative radio programmers this week.

According to Mediabase, the song claims most added thanks to pickups from 10 monitored stations. The latest wave of support comes as “I Am,” which is the follow-up to AWOLNATION’s chart-topping “Hollow Moon (Bad Wolf),” approaches the Top 20 on the alternative format’s airplay chart.

Death Cab for Cutie’s “The Ghosts of Beverly Drive,” which ranked as last week’s most added song, earns the second-most added distinction this week. It won support from 9 monitored alternative stations.

The Struts’ “Could Have Been Me” follows with 8 monitored adds, while The Arcs’ “Outta My Mind,” Halsey’s “New Americana,” Atlas Genius’ “Molecules” and Cold War Kids’ “First” all tie for fourth-most added. Each of the four songs scored 7 adds.

Other notable alternative options: CHVRCHES’ “Leave a Trace” (5 adds, 8th-most added, tie), Glass Animals’ “Black Mambo” (5 adds, 8th-most added, tie), Mumford & Sons’ “The Wolf” (5 adds, 8th-most added, tie), Muse’s “Mercy” (5 adds, 8th-most added, tie) and Walk the Moon’s “Different Colors” (5 adds, 8th-most added, tie).
