Ratings: “The Voice” Finale Falls, Still Tops “Dancing with the Stars” in Demo (Updated)

Update: Per final broadcast data, Tuesday’s two-hour “The Voice” finale delivered NBC a 2.9 adults 18-49 rating with 11.56 million viewers.

ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars” finale, which aired opposite “The Voice,” scored a 2.3 with 13.49 million viewers.

Compared to their previous season finales — and their previous spring finales — both “The Voice” and “Dancing” suffered losses.

While ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars” finale drew a larger audience, NBC’s “The Voice” finale won the head-to-head battle in the coveted adults 18-49 demographic.

Airing from 9-11PM ET, Tuesday’s “The Voice” finale drew a 2.8 adults 18-49 rating with 11.36 million viewers. “Dancing,” which aired in the same timeslot, posted a 2.3 with 13.31 million viewers.

On an hourly basis, “The Voice” posted a 2.7 with 11.05 million viewers at 9PM and a 3.0 with 11.66 million at 10PM. “DWTS” drew a 2.2 with 12.83 million viewers at 9PM and a 2.4 with 13.79 million at 10PM.

“The Voice” ranked as Tuesday’s top-rated show, while its “DWTS” opponent was the night’s most-watched.

Compared to their previous season finales — and their previous spring finales — both “The Voice” and “Dancing” suffered losses.

Airing on December 16, 2014, the previous “The Voice” season finale drew a 3.3 adults 18-49 rating with 12.88 million viewers. Last spring’s finale, which brought the sixth season to an end on May 20, 2014, posted a 3.3 with 11.69 million viewers.

Airing on November 25, 2014, the previous “Dancing with the Stars” finale scored a 3.0 adults 18-49 rating with 15.98 million viewers. Last spring’s closer drew a 2.4 adults 18-49 rating with 15.07 million viewers on May 20, 2014.
