Tyler Farr Scores 1st Billboard Country Airplay #1 with “A Guy Walks into a Bar”

Sunday brought confirmation that “A Guy Walks Into a Bar” had officially become Tyler Farr’s third #1 hit on the Mediabase country radio singles chart. It followed in the chart-topping footsteps of predecessors “Whiskey in My Water” and “Redneck Crazy.”

Chart-toppers on Mediabase, both “Whiskey” and “Redneck” peaked at #3 on Billboard’s corresponding Country Airplay chart. If “A Guy Walks Into a Bar” were to top the Billboard country radio chart, it would become his first hit on the listing.

Monday brought confirmation that Farr’s “Guy” officially reached the apex of the Billboard chart.

The song’s #1 position comes courtesy its 45.608 million tracking week audience impressions (+2.273 million).

— Billy Currington’s “Don’t It” (#2), A Thousand Horses’ “Smoke” (#3), Florida Georgia Line’s “Sippin’ on Fire” (#4) and Keith Urban’s “Raise’ Em Up (featuring Eric Church)” (#5) form the remainder of the top five.

— “Raise ‘Em Up” topped both the Mediabase and Billboard country airplay charts last week.
