Ratings: The CW’s “iZombie” Returns to Low, “The Flash” Also Slips (Updated)

Update: Final broadcast data, which accounts for a Chicago baseball pre-emption, confirms that Tuesday’s “iZombie” endured a week-over-week ratings decline.

This week’s edition of the freshman CW drama drew a 0.6 adults 18-49 rating with 1.62 million total viewers. Both numbers were down from those of last week’s broadcast, which posted a 0.7 with 1.69 million viewers.

This week’s demographic rating actually ties a series low, while the viewership mark represents a new one. Collectively, they thus establish this week’s “iZombie” as the worst-performing episode yet.

While it did not slip to a series low, this week’s edition of lead-in “The Flash” did endure a week-over-week decline.

This Tuesday’s episode drew a 1.4 with 3.62 million viewers. Last week’s edition was good for a 1.5 with 3.93 million.

Thanks to a baseball pre-emption in the Chicago market, ratings for The CW’s “iZombie” and “The Flash” will likely be subject to notable revisions in the final broadcast report.

The fast national ratings, which are based on timeslot and thus include Chicago’s baseball coverage, say that Tuesday’s “iZombie” earned a 0.7 adults 18-49 rating with 1.93 million total viewers.

The preliminary report says “The Flash” drew a 1.4 rating with 3.64 million viewers.

As they currently stand, the “iZombie” performance is even in adults 18-49 and up in total viewership (last week’s drew a 0.7 with 1.69 million viewers), while “The Flash” is down in both columns (last week’s posted a 1.5 with 3.93 million viewers).

It is presently uncertain how removing the baseball broadcast will impact the average ratings for both programs. To that it provides any indication, the last such adjustment–which came in conjunction with the April 21 episodes–served to reduce numbers for “iZombie” but increase them for “The Flash.”
