Iggy Azalea Addresses “Pretty Girls” Leak; Teases Her Own New Single

While Britney Spears has thus far maintained silence regarding the leak, Iggy Azalea Tweeted about the premature emergence of their new collaboration “Pretty Girls.”

“I happened to have noticed that pretty girls, my song with @britneyspears has leaked and is on some radio stations etc,” wrote Azalea, who typically allows management to handle her Twitter account. “I’m really really happy to see so many people loving it but i also just want to clarify its not an ‘early’ release its a leak and if you can we would really appreciate everyone holding out until monday to share links etc if possible (i know its hard, I’m excited too!).”

Officially slated for a May 4 release, “Pretty Girls” emerged on the Internet this Saturday. Many media outlets, including some very high-profile ones, joined social media users in sharing the audio.

Amid a series of interactions related to the song, Azalea also drew attention to the fact that he is singing with Spears on the chorus.

“Also for the record brit and i are both singing the chorus’s [sic] together… i guess you guys aren’t used to hearing my singing voice :-),” added Azalea. “saw some people missed that aspect, maybe when we perform it it will be more obvious hahaha.”

The Australian rapper also dropped some other news: her own next single is on its way.

“This song is britneys 1st single… mine will come after in a few weeks,” wrote Azalea, who later noted that a few weeks could mean three or eight and that fans should not hold their breath.

She did, however, offer news that the single will not include a featured vocalist.

For now, however, attention will focus on the release and performance of Britney Spears’ “Pretty Girls (featuring Iggy Azalea).”
