While this week’s Billboard Hot 100 does not feature any blockbuster, Top 40 launches, it does feature a handful of new entries.
The highest charting of those is Dillon Francis & DJ Snake’s “Get Low.” The song enters the Hot 100 at #77. It also appears at #37 on the Digital Songs subchart.
Designed to capitalize on the momentum generated by DJ Snake’s “Turn Down for What (with Lil Jon),” “Get Low” failed to take off upon release last year.
The song received a second life, however, thanks to inclusion in campaigns for Taco Bell and “Furious 7” (it also appears on the latter’s soundtrack). Columbia Records is hoping to parlay the new momentum into a run at radio, and it recently issued a remix with Rae Sremmurd to generate more excitement.
It remains to be seen whether Columbia’s renewed push will prove successful, but the recent enthusiasm did prove powerful enough to score “Get Low” a spot on this week’s Hot 100.
Other debuts this week:
— Wale’s “The Matrimony (featuring Usher)” enters at #87.
— Ludacris’ “Good Lovin (featuring Miguel)” starts at #91.
— Kelsea Ballerini’s “Love Me Like You Mean It” arrives at #97.
— Future’s “Commas” opens at #98.
