The Weeknd’s “Earned It” Crosses the 1 Million Sales Mark

What a week for The Weeknd’s “Earned It!”

In addition to reaching a new peak of #5 on the all-encompassing Billboard Hot 100, the “50 Shades of Grey” single also charges past the one million sales mark.

“Earned It” was credited with approximately 107,000 sales during the most recent tracking week. When combined with the 950,584 Nielsen says it had sold prior, the weekly tally boosts the song’s cumulative mark to approximately 1.058 million.

A multi-faceted smash, “Earned It” ranks at #6 on the weekly Digital Songs (thanks to it 107,000 sales), Streaming Songs (8.9 million US streams) and Radio Songs (86 million all-format impressions) subcharts. The metrics combine to give “Earned It” enough chart points for the #5 position on the overall Hot 100.

It is The Weeknd’s first Top 5 hit — and his first Top 10 hit as a solo artist.

His previous career peak came courtesy the Ariana Grande duet “Love Me Harder,” which peaked at #7. His highest-charting solo release was “Wicked Games,” which went as high as #53.
