As Rachel Platten’s “Fight Song” prepares for a crossover run at pop radio, it continues to establish a support base at the hot adult contemporary format.
Already a Top 30 song on the format’s official airplay chart, the song this week registers as Hot AC radio’s most added song.
According to Mediabase, 16 monitored stations added “Fight Song” to their playlists this week. No other song–new or old–gained an equivalent level of support.
Recently named an iHeartRadio “On the Verge” song–and thus picked to receive guaranteed airplay from iHeartMedia radio stations–“Fight Song” appears destined for meaningful success.
Added by 13 monitored stations, Meghan Trainor’s “Dear Future Husband” ranks as Hot AC radio’s second-most added song this week. The double digit list of adds comes as “DFH” moves toward the format’s Top 40; it appears at #41 on the latest edition of Mediabase’s rolling Hot AC airplay chart.
Jason Derulo’s “Want to Want Me” and Tori Kelly’s “Nobody Love” tie for third-most added with 11 pickups each. Nate Ruess’ “Nothing Without Love” and One Direction’s “Night Changes” then share fifth-most added honors on the respective strength of their 9 weekly pickups.
Other popular Hot AC options this week: Jacquie Lee’s “Tears Fall” (7 adds, 7th-most added, tie), James Bay’s “Hold Back the River” (7 adds, 7th-most added, tie), Mumford & Sons’ “Believe” (7 adds, 7th-most added, tie), NEEDTOBREATHE’s “Brother (featuring Gavin DeGraw)” (6 adds, 10th-most added, tie) and The Weeknd’s “Earned It” (6 adds, 10th-most added, tie).
