Ratings: FX’s “The Americans” Hits Series Low in Demo, Loses Viewers

FX’s “The Americans” simply cannot turn its critical acclaim into ratings success.

This Wednesday’s episode slipped by 17% to a series low 0.24 adults 18-49 rating. Its viewership average of 972,000, which trails last week’s mark by 5%, ranks as the second-lowest ever drawn by an “Americans” episode.

Only the February 4, 2015 episode, which reached 918,000, fared worse in the total viewership column.

After commencing its third season with a respectable–but still unremarkable–0.63 adults 18-49 rating with 1.895 million viewers on January 28, FX’s critically acclaimed drama fell into the ratings basement. Its subsequent three episodes (including this week’s) rank as the series’ three least-watched broadcasts to date.
