Scheduling has thus far done no favors for Zendaya vehicle “KC Undercover.”
Three weeks ago, the series premiered against CBS’ coverage of the AFC Championship.
Disney wisely gave the series a break against last week’s Super Bowl, but it decided to return with an original episode–the show’s third–against this Sunday’s Grammy Awards telecast.
Positioned against the highest-rated segment of the music awards show, Sunday’s “KC Undercover” endured a sizable ratings hit this week.
The episode commanded a viewership average of 2.22 million, which represented a steep 27% decline from the second episode’s audience total. Favorable rounding creates the impression that Sunday’s “KC” matched its predecessor’s 0.4 adults 18-49 rating (it drew a 0.35 this week versus a 0.42 for its previous episode), but the episode took a clear hit in females 12-34. Its 1.3 in that demo represented a fall from the 1.6 posted on January 25.
Disney’s other programs:
Austin & Ally – 2.07 million viewers, 0.4 adults 18-49 rating (rounded from a 0.36), 1.1 females 12-34 rating
Liv and Maddie – 2.17 million viewers, 0.4 adults 18-49 rating (rounded from a 0.36), 1.2 females 12-34 rating
