Update: The premiere of NBC’s “Allegiance” was a bust.
Leading out of “The Blacklist” (2.4 adults 18-49 rating, 10.11 million total viewers), the new NBC drama scored a mere 1.1 rating with 4.98 million viewers. It was the lowest-rated and least-watched of the three 10PM network programs.
ABC’s opposing “How to Get Away with Murder” drew a 2.7 adults 18-49 rating with 8.34 million viewers. CBS’ “Elementary” scored a 1.5 with 7.87 million.

While NBC’s “The Blacklist” fared well despite entering an intense head-to-head battle with ABC’s “Scandal,” 10PM lead-out “Allegiance” failed to command significant interest.
Thursday’s series premiere garnered a paltry 3.4 overnight household rating.
Likely to translate into similarly underwhelming adults 18-49 and total viewership numbers, the “Allegiance” overnight household rating trails that of its “Blacklist” lead-in (6.8) by a whopping 50%.
It also trails the 3.7 garnered by a “The Blacklist” encore in the 8PM hour.
While competition from ABC’s “How to Get Away with Murder” and CBS’ “Elementary” did not make for an easy debut landscape, neither performed well enough to justify the show’s poor retention out of “The Blacklist.” “HTGAWM” delivered a series low 6.2 overnight household rating, while “Elementary” continues its streak of modesty with a 4.9.
Adults 18-49 and total viewership data for “Allegiance” should be available by 11:15AM ET.
