Hot 100: Maroon 5’s “Sugar” Goes Top 5; Mark Ronson Still Leads

Make it five weeks for Mark Ronson’s “Uptown Funk (featuring Bruno Mars),” which continues to rule dominantly over Billboard’s all-encompassing Hot 100.

Not merely the overall #1, “Uptown Funk” is also the leader on the key subcharts. It tops Digital Songs (365,000 weekly sales), Streaming Songs (24.5 million US streams), On-Demand Songs (5.7 million plays) and Radio Songs (170 million audience impressions).

Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud” stays put in the #2 slot. Hozier’s “Take Me to Church” (#3) and Taylor Swift’s “Blank Space” (#4) also mirror last week’s positions.

The chart’s first change comes in the #5 slot. Maroon 5’s new single “Sugar” reaches the top 5 courtesy a one position gain. It is the band’s second straight top 5 hit (after #3-peaking “Animals”) and eighth overall such success.

Other top ten songs this week: Meghan Trainor’s “Lips are Movin” (#6), Sam Smith’s “I’m Not the Only One” (#7), Nick Jonas’ “Jealous” (#8), Taylor Swift’s “Shake it Off” (#9) and Fall Out Boy’s “Centuries” (#10).
